Mine:
In my opinion his speech was self promoting and at times defiant to what I think the American people want. The "Blame Bush" game has worn out, and taking this stance only hurts him and the Democrats. The people would embrace him if he had owned and took the blame. Even if he truly was not to blame. Humility goes a long way, and he did not shown any. I think this only emboldens those against him and possibly loses more support
His speech on creating jobs did not really bring me any hope but was more of a way to try and appease those who are against his social agenda. At this point, this was the only good thing I saw. But, I won't hold my breath for it to actually happen..
Sadly, and true to form, he shows little if any respect to the armed forces and those sacrificing their lives for freedom. No heart felt appreciate for them or the work being done. Only the exit strategy to garner appease to his left of center supporters that he angered when he choose to send more troop. Do I think it should of been the main topic of the State of Union? No, but it deserved more then a brief sentence that he gave. He missed an open opportunity to speak about our troops and thank them..
Lastly, his open attack on the SCOTUS was a below the belt jab that once again shows his arrogance. To actually, publicly criticize the SCOTUS and use a "Bully Pulpit" style shows his arrogance and out of touch with the American people.
He gets a C- from me...
