Personally, I don't really care which party helps our economy climb out of this rut, and I don't think it is wise of the Republicans to vote down bills that are aligned with their ideals simply because they don't want the Dems to look good.

I think the issue is around massive spending in general even if they think it is going to help. The economy is weak and govt still swiping their credit card goes against everything the people want... I agree with the tax cuts but there is massive money in public transportation (i.e. Govt spending) that really has no affect on the economy imo..

Has the GOP stopped chanting "41!"?

Maybe now the Dems are chanting "60!"

My opinion is that it is nice to see a senator think for himself and try to represent teh people that elected him. There is spending in teh bill, but there are also large tax cuts. Seems like people are at least trying to cooperate rather than the way it was for the past year.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
