LOL, he is paying a pee wee price if any. I heard he already is having some kind of AA support Harry Reid thing this week or next. He was in tears over all the great support he is receiving across the country.

I myself think it is much to do about nothing, but to say Reid is paying a serious price is laughable. Maybe that was your intent though is to interject some humor.

Considering he only used an anachronistic term, did not use it in any racist way, and is therefore only guilty of using the accepted term from his younger formative years, I would say that ANY price (and getting mildly scolded by the sitting president is a price) is more than appropriate. The statement won't help him. It might hurt his re-election prospects. If he loses by a slim margin, he can chalk that up to this innocent, not-racist blunder.
