Since he was referring to what is taught in the classroom to young children, I assume he was referring to home schooling.

Face it, the more that objectionable teachings, behaviors, etc. etc. etc. permeate our society, there will be an increased desire to withdraw from that society; making it increasingly difficult to be "in the world, but not of the world".

That's a real useful suggestion. Coming from a person that has undoubtedly seen less of the world than I have, I really value your input.

I never understood "in the world, but not of the world" thing. We are all of this world whether we want to be or not, and our interactions with others, or lack thereof are a part of this world.

I also don't understand the desire to withdraw from society for people that are anti gay marriage. Why are parents so worried about 30 minutes or so of class time that may, or may not, be an actual part of school curriculum once or twice a year? Don't Mormon parents have 3 hours of church, a couple hours of FHE, plus tens of hours of potential conversation time with their children each week? Maybe the desire to withdraw is an unconscious awareness that the arguments against same sex marriage are so weak that 30 minutes once a year will be too powerful to overcome.

I don't know. I was just trying to give my interpretation on what exUte was trying to say regarding 'going extreme'.

Regarding withdrawing from society, there are all sorts of things all of us avoid in our society because they are at odds with our beliefs. If society becomes increasingly at odds with our beliefs, then it's only natural we are going to become more insular.

I don't go to strip joints, but I go to parades. However, if the parades I go with my family started including women pulling up their shirts to get beads, then we would stop going to parades.

Perhaps, though like you I have physically been to many places all over the world. But you miss my point. Indeed, I am accepting your predicate that you are not "of the world." I have seen people who have been to many more places than you or I who are not of the world. For example, the person who I heard say that Michelangelo "painted those Catholic pictures because the Catholic Church made him do it" had visited most countries in the world, and every continent except Antartica multiple times (he'd been to Tiera Del Fuego on more than one occasion, however). I know for a fact that he has out-traveled you by a huge margin. But that person was not of the world. Come on, admit to me that you would gaze at the stained glass at Chartres Cathedral and think, "Great Apostate art, or "Great Whore of All the Earth art."

Well..Iran is changing.We have made a hell of lot of change particularly during the last decade.Its quite tempting to predict a promising future for the movement considering some facts on the ground.As long as Iranians legendary passion for family goes,they are going to have to embrace gay members within the family who would likely be ended up marrying their own brothers.As you may acknowledge,no one deserves to have their back more than their own ggb.
