critics say Obama should lay off Fox News ...

Taking the lead in the administration's attacks was White House communications director Anita Dunn, a veteran Democratic strategist who, until now, has kept a mostly low profile within the West Wing. No longer.

"The reality of it is that Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party," Ms. Dunn told CNN.

The whining is a little unbecoming of the office of the President.

I can't recall President Bush complaining about unfair coverage from the NY Times, ABC, NBC, msnbc, etc. Maybe he did and I just don't remember.

imo, complaining about it only brings it the attention it begs for. I think the President should keep himself (and his office) above the fray on this one. It is what it is.

        Poor Obama. Poor, poor Obama.

This is hilarious, especially Anita Dunn's job. I rarely listen to Beck and others, but I happened to catch a segment yesterday in which he was saying that he has a phone line in order for Dunn to call him each time he says something that isn't true. Apparently, he sent the White House that phone number and it's been confirmed that the White House accepted the number - and only Anita Dunn has that number. Yet she never calls. Why?

he was taped off the record referring to a Times reporter as a Major League Asshole, but that's it.. no official press releases about Bill Maher.

Obama is doing a lot of things differently. In general, I like that he is mixing things up a bit. And what kind of pinkie-lifting, nose-in-the-air brahmans are we to say what is or isn't below the dignity of the president? Does anyone here have the life experience to really judge this sort of thing? A president needs to maintain a certain level of dignity in order to demand the respect required to fulfill the duties of the office. In this respect, Obama is fine. It isn't like he is sneaking up behind foreign leaders and giving them unwanted back rubs.

No wonder Chicago lost the Olympic bid. IOC members love that kind of treatment.
