I ran 7.3 tonight. I had hoped to ride my bike to work today, but was running late, so I missed out on those miles.

Here is a confession -- I still haven't read the story that inspired TDB and this contest. I couldn't bring myself to do it. It started off too sad and I stopped. Maybe some day before the end of this competition, or after it, I will read the story, but I still can't bring myself to do it.

        11 mile run today.

I can't blame you, Robin, for not reading it.

Did the RATT powers that be settle on a charity to which funds will be donated? ACORN? Cougar Club? Lebowski's 401(k)? I'm down with whatever, but it'd be nice to know the cause for which I'm perspiring heavily.

Heaven knows my 401k needs all the help it can get. (switch to growth stocks? IDIOT!)

ACORN gets my vote. Or maybe the ACLU, or Doctors Without Borders.

6 and change today. I think I'm getting sick. My HR was 15 beats higher than normal and I had the chills most of the afternoon. If I get bronchitis a week before my marathon I'll be PISSED.

I'm still resting my IT band, but have been alternating exercise bike and weight training for the past few weeks. I did 65 minutes (23.31 miles on the cardio setting keeping my hr around 153) on a stationary bike tonight watching the last part of the steelers/titans game.

That's what I have been doing as well.

                            7.1 mile walk tonight

I may be small, but I'm slow.

                              4.4 mile run this morning.

I wanted to get back to alternating lifting and running every other day, but I just can't help it. With a contest on I just want to run every day - so I cut the weights short this morning and hit the road for half of my workout.

                                A couple of questions:

I ride a bike 3 days a week. By a "bike", I mean an old hybrid that I got for about $200 several years ago. I also wear running shoes while riding, as well as a shirt that flows out behind me like I am a super-hero, and shorts that constantly ride up and expose the side of my buttocks. I figure 10 miles with this getup is equal to about 15 miles on one of those fancy bikes with all of the accoutrements, so should I just factor up my miles by 50%?

Next time, can the two captains be posters who I don't routinely confuse with each other? Maybe they could be Robin and JohnnyLingo. That would make it a lot easier for me.
