So, us humans who evolved over millions of years to live in the outdoors should now cower indoors to avoid the great ball of fire in the sky?

Some interesting references to studies, but doesn't even address issues like adequate Vitamin D.

The biggest takeaway I get from the article is to avoid sun burns, moisturize, and drink lots of water.
One year ago I had to do a multi-week chemical peel (chemotherapy in a lotion) for some pre-cancerous spots on my face. After two weeks I looked like a burn victim and it was miserable. But it really cleared things up. Now I don't leave my house in the morning without putting sunscreen on my face and hands/arms and I wear hats/long-sleeve hoodies, etc for sun protection.

Most of those millions of years, the average life span was about 45 years. And if people lived longer, it was often with disfiguring skin cancer lesions.

There are nearly a million Mohs surgeries performed each year in the US, and most are on people 65 and older.

I’m not saying we should avoid all sunlight, but we should be smart about.

You know how long ago people were living and what kind of skin cancer lesions they had millions of years ago? Impressive.

My comments are a little tongue-in-cheek. I do use a face lotion with sunscreen in it. But all the "don't leave the house!" rhetoric is as funny as it is impractical.

I run most days shirtless, but most runs are under an hour. I may need to reconsider, but I probably won't. I like showing off my sexy bod.

I showed off my body at Lagoon A Beach recently, just giving the people what they want. But I used plenty of spray-on sunscreen before attempting to blind everyone there.

I usually wear a compression shirt while swimming. It offers protection in multiple ways. My kids give me a hard time about my farmer's tan otherwise.

I often wear a brimmed sun hat when working in the yard outside.

I don't wear sunscreen very often though. I should wear it more. I should make it outside more too.

I just found a brand that I liked and I keep in the bathroom and make it part of my morning routine. Shower, shave, brush teeth, sunscreen.

I have a lotion with SPF 30 that I wear daily on my face. 30 isn't a ton of protection, but it's better than nothing, and everything i've tried with more protection feels greasy or slimy. Plus, this has retinol, so it's keeping away the wrinkles. I've started wearing sun sleeves for golf unless i'm playing in the early morning. Also, I have a mineral-based suncreen in a stick from trader Joe's that I freaking love for when I golf. It's SPF 50 and it doesn't feel greasy at all. And it's easy to apply without getting all over my hands. FWIW, i'm out on the spray sunscreen--too easy to miss spots and the spray nozzle gums up too easily.
