Yeah, apparently, the cyclists don't seem to mind the asterisk next to their lead. They're used to that kind of thing.
I have a theory that the biking ratio works in favor of the bikers. Faith isn't running today, so she can run longer tomorrow, so I'm going to go hop on the mountain bike with Faith's Garmin and see if these ratios are really fair.

Are you going to ride the trails on the mtn bike? Steep terrain?
Wow....has it been HOT lately. Trying to get some rides in...I'm hoping I whither off some unwanted pounds...I guess me drinking like a camel when I get back in doesn't help.
I guess I'm like Sponge Bob....only, Sponge Bob Fat Pants!
56.3 Miles on Friday
42.4 miles on Saturday
Jeez, how many miles do you put in when the weather is cool?
Nice job.

I hate to break it to you runners, but our total does NOT include Archaea's insane output.

I was hoping to do a really long ride today...but, as I woke up, I had a "creekster moment". I turned on the TV whilst watching breakfast, and obviously...turned it to the Tour de France and so began my captivated morning.
First, it was: I'll just finish my breakfast...then, it was, I'll just put my feet up on the couch...next it was, pillows positioned for an encampment to watching the finish...to falling back asleep on the couch! (I missed the finish mind you, and woke up for the podium awards! DOH!)
Dang it!
Ended up leaving really late, totally got sapped by the heat.

I entered 6.5 miles today, but I feel like I should get credit for another 3/4 mile, as the 6.5 miles came on a hike to the South peak of Mount Olympus in the SLC Valley (I have been in SLC for the last few days for my cousin's wedding) where I gained almost 5,000 feet going up.
When I was in second grade I attended Hill View elementary school in Murray and we had a lovely view of this mountain from our playground. I vowed to myself then that someday I would climb that mountain. More than 40 years later I finally did it. This was a bucket list sort of thing for me.
The climb up was actually not too hard, but for the last .1 of a mile, which is pretty much straight up, requiring the use of both hands for a good part of it. Coming down was a bear for my nearly 50 year old knees; much, much worse than going up (my theory is that my bike riding makes my quads good at pushing down, which makes going up easy, but makes lifting up not as strong. I got to the summit in less than three hours but took much longer coming down.
The climb is 6.5 miles (round trip)with an elevation gain of 4,920 feet from the trail head. Any of you in SLC or the area should definitely do this climb sometime. If you go, go early in the morning as the bottom half of the climb is exposed and the sun is not kind inthe afternoon. But the views from thew top are spec-stinkin'-tacular. A couple of shots below (I forgot my camera so these were taken with my blackberry)
This is the view from the top of the south peak. I am standing on the edge of a sheer clif that is the chasm between this summit and the north peak, which is below:
It is really cool to see this as it is onyl about 300 yards away from the south peak, but it looks like you could reach out and touch it.
