That'd be great. We're not going to leave Cedar City until Friday morning, so I'm not sure we'll have a ton of time to spare, but if they're at all slower than they say, that'd be really nice.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I'm off! Good luck to everyone running in the relay, if you see our van say hi. I'll be posting some stuff on a blog when I have some time, feel free to follow along if you want.
Rants and Runs

Well, I made it. Barely.
My first leg was a flat 3.5 mile run through Huntsville. Hotter than I'd like and I ran it harder than I should have (avg HR 177, max 189). I would pay for it later.
Second leg was beautiful. 1:30 am and no moon--everyone should have a run like this at some point in their lives. The solitude, the stars, the crickets--just a great experience. Nevertheless, I was feeling the fatigue from my first run and was ready to be done at the end.
Got about 2 hrs of sleep and then took off with the van for our third legs. Absolutely brutal climb in the middle of a rainstorm. Here's the profile:

You'll note the 1600' over 4 miles. You'll also note the 9000' elevation at the end. Hardest climb I've ever done. On 2 hours of sleep and 11 miles the day before.
I'm working all day today and I've never been so tempted to pour myself a cup of coffee in my life. I'm still deciding if this was fun.

When I'm not posting from my BB I'll give more details, but plenty of lessons learned after my first Ragnar. We crossed the finish at 12:20 PM then stayed at Zermatt in Midway. Both my wife and I slept from 9 PM Saturday until 9 AM this morning.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostWell, I made it. Barely.

You gotta love people with personality, even when it's freaking gross.Originally posted by ERCougar View PostChasing some tail...
When I ran the Vegas Marathon in '05, there was a guy in a flesh colored Speedo. On the message board related to the race, we kindly referred to him as "nutsack man", and everyone knew who was being referred to. He was fast, too. I looked up his time and he had finished in something like 2:45.
The next year I read an article about the Grandma's Marathon and how they had banned a guy for life because of his apparel. There in the article was a picture of nutsac man. Pretty funny.

If by buff, you mean scrawny arms and chicken legs, you're dead on.Originally posted by nikuman View PostThat's nasty. Was he really running in tighty whities?
Also, you look buff.
And yes, he was. I actually ended up catching him and ran the last mile with him. Pretty funny guy.At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Is anyone who did the Wasatch Back going for the Saints and Sinners tandem and coming to Vegas?Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I'm with you. Last year, I didn't push it very hard and had a lot of fun. This year, I pushed it a lot harder and had a lot less fun. Our other van (who really didn't push hard AT ALL...grrr...) wanted to do the Saints and Sinners thing, but again wanted the easy van. The vans on that are really uneven with van 2 running something like 40 miles more than van 1. We said no. My trash was kicked.Originally posted by Teenage Dirtbag View PostI honestly don't see how I could possibly do more than one relay a year.
