Moliere was kind enough to set up a spreadsheet for this event. After you and/or your spouse runs or walks 10K meters (6.213 miles) on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, enter your name, age and distance here: The CS Turkey Trot 2014. I've put in a sample time for me that I intend to beat, but who knows? Time doesn't matter, just do it. As each person enters a time, the amount going to Days for Girls will increase.

Time must be entered as h:m:s ; those finishing in under an hour still need to enter 0 in the hours section.

CS'ers and their spouses are eligible.

Green Monstah has graciously offered to match my contribution based on everyone's participation in this (i.e., a buck for every mile run). Thus the amount shown on the spreadsheet will now be doubled. He'll make his contribution directly, as I don't want to serve as the conduit and the donor should get the tax benefit of the contribution. And one can give to the charity of one's choosing. If you want to kick in (and there's certainly no requirement that you do so), let me know and the totals will be included on the spreadsheet.

This starts tomorrow. Everybody get out and walk or run 6.2 miles (health permitting, of course).

Hmmm, I've been on the fence about participating....only because I'm coming back from a foot injury and haven't gone over 3.1 miles in the past two months. However, GM's donation might put me into "okay, I'll do 3 miles and then limp the last 3.2" mode. There's no way I'll beat PACs time if it's age adjusted....I don't think I could even beat it if I was in really good condition. PAC is putting up numbers in his 60s that are pretty dang good.

Also, although I said contestants had to be CS'ers, if they want to participate, I'd like to see runs from the female counterparts of BigPiney, Cardiac and Topper, all of whom I've met and know to be outstanding distance runners. Any other spouses would be similarly invited to join in.
I am ashamed to say, Mrs. Topper ran six minutes faster than Topper. Again, a wobbling I will go. She did have the adversity of snow and pacing me at the beginning, so there's that.

i'm currently in second place! That'll probably drop after the third entrant shows up, but i'm still reasonably satisfied with my time. Topper, you should post your wife's time on the spread sheet; Mrs. Topper will destroy most of the field.

I beat my previous, humble best that I put up five years ago when I first started running. Interestingly, I feel so much better right now than I did back then when I just wanted to collapse for the rest of the day. Especially after watching The Theory of Everything last night, I'm more thankful than ever for being healthy and able to engage in pretty much any activity that interests me.

            Happy T-Day everybody.

Well done. The phone won't let me enter it. She is 49 and ran gently a 41:54. She was in shower by the time i finished. I am impressed by you dedication.

I finished with the exact same time as you. Age adjusted you smoked me. Problem is, I can't enter anything on the spreadsheet from my iPad for some reason.

I finished my 10k just a little while ago. I met some friends about half through and limped to the finish. I am in lousy shape, thanks to my little 2 month lay-off, so this was by far the farthest I've run in probably 6 months. Still, it felt good to join you guys and gals in suffering on this most thankful day.

Wife and 14 year old son did the official turkey trot in our town which usually has about 2,000 runners.

bg, given your accident and resultant layoff, that's an impressive achievement. I know from past experience you'd crush me under ordinary circumstances. But it's not about the time; it's great you're out and moving again.

Put up your time on the spreadsheet, or if you're unable to do so, give me your age and I'll do it for you using the Strava info.

And chrisrenrut, it's a shame we weren't running together, although in spirit I suppose we were.

And Mrs. Topper is out front; the world awaits the Piney family and P'dip.

Well, so far, I'm the youngest participant and the slowest participant, but I bet I burned more calories than the rest of you!!! Felt good.

we ran this morning in Death Valley. It was not flat (my wife was not pleased), though very scenic. She is better than I will ever be.

As expected, the Pineys put up some great times. But then, when contrasted with the rest of the CS community, everyone put up great times. happyone and Parrothead (who apparently ran double the required distance) will get credit for having participated, even though they haven't logged their times. And we haven't heard from Eddie or originalsocal yet; it's hoped they'll report in.

                              I understand that concept.

Feel free to disqualify my time but I ran this morning (Sat) due to conflicts on the other days. I'm really in no shape to be running a 10K since I haven't ran more than 3.1 miles since probably back in February but I pounded it out anyway and actually surprised me a bit with my time 54:17. It helped that the last mile someone turned onto my course and was about 20 yards ahead of me. He was running faster than a 8 min/mile pace so I tried to keep up, which I couldn't but it made me push the last mile and gave me a decent pace.
