  • 2013 Holiday Running Challenge!

Time to get this baby warmed up again. I plan on crushing it the rest of the year. Who's in? And more importantly, who is going to set up the tracker? Moliere?

Yeah, I'm planning on running it again. Figure we'll do the same thing and run it from Thanksgiving through the end of the year. Last year we ran across the US. Any ideas on where to run this year? Was thinking the TdF route would be cool but it's a bit short and disjointed. I'd prefer to not run across Canada given how much of it is vast wasteland.

I'm in. But has DH really made us this cheap about starting new threads?

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Ha. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe this fits better in the "Pies" thread.

I'm in. Starting from zero. Tomorrow?!

Count me in, but I run only twice a week or so, and with modest mileage at that. At least I should dominate the >60 division. But I'd like to include cycling miles as well--I'm an exercise dilettante. Cyclists could adjust their reported mileage by dividing riding miles by, say, 3.5, depending on their speed. Here's an interesting article comparing riding and running miles. The chart doesn't take wind and hills into account, but it provides an adequate gauge. It would be great to encourage movement, in whatever form, by all CS'ers. Sorry for the slight threadjack, but this thing went off the rails when we didn't start a new thread for 2013.

I'm in. Once again I will likely start with good intention and effort and fade.

I'm in. I'm putting in some decent, non-marathon training miles right now. Not nikuman or topper miles, mind you, but not too bad for me. 4 weeks until the turkey trot.

I'm fine including cyclists. I'm not sure how many get out during the winter, but maybe a separate spreadsheet for cycling would be best. I'll work something up between now and thanksgiving.
