If I went to bed on time it would be in the 8+, but I seem to find reasons to stay up till 12:45. I have been blessed to have always had the ability to fall asleep in under 2 minutes. And if I do wake up in the night (kids), I fall right back to sleep.

Probably 5-6 hours. My kid still doesn't sleep great so by the time we've finally eased him into his bed around midnight it takes another 2 hours for me to unwind."You know, I was looking at your shirt and your scarf and I was thinking that if you had leaned over, I could have seen everything." ~Trial Ad Judge

I used to have trouble falling a sleep and would usually wake up early. It was probably because I was getting plenty of sleep.Originally posted by BigPiney View PostIf I went to bed on time it would be in the 8+, but I seem to find reasons to stay up till 12:45. Since having kids, I can sleep anywhere, anytime on a moment's notice.Last edited by beefytee; 01-07-2013, 09:07 AM.

I'm in this range. I can function fine on 4 or 5 for extended periods of time, but 5.5-6.5 is generally where I fall when I have no reason to be up early.Originally posted by Indy Coug View Post5.5 to 6.5Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Does this include naps?
I've been a nap taker my whole life. Around 4, I'll take a 30 minute snoozer. Otherwise, I get 8 hours. 1-9. One of the perks from working out of the house. Or one of the non perks from working from nine till midnight on most nights. No complaints.

I am usually in bed around midnight at up at quarter to 6. So I get about 5-6 hours each night. The weekends aren't much different because of early PEC and WC meetings on Sunday. Saturday I may sleep in until 7, 8 at the latest.
Like BigPiney I can fall asleep as soon as I put my head on my pillow. It drives Gidget nuts because she usually has a difficult time falling asleep. Like Mrs. Funk once the kids are down she needs to wind down and usually does this by watching some documentary or TV show. I had a professor once suggest that I do nothing but sleep in my bed when I was having some trouble sleeping. At the time my bed was my couch/desk. I did my homework, TV watching, gaming and even eating sitting on my bed. I made a conscious effort to change all of that and it really helped. I still do that. I'd much rather watch TV or something in the family room or basement than in our bedroom. And the rare occasion I do have trouble sleeping, instead of tossing and turning in bed I'll get up and do something until I am sleepy so the sleep I eventually get is deep. If it persists, such as jet lag after travel I'll take some melatonin an hour or two before the time I am trying to get to sleep."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I made a resolution to be in bed by 11:00 pm every work night this year. That extra 90 minutes has made a big difference already. I'm going to try to maintain 7 hours throughout 2013.A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali
