Grrrr. Eddie, I'm sorry to hear this. You can still come and hang out though - my wife likely will be.

My wife received an email telling her congratulations on making it in. She was on Mrs. Bluegoose's ticket, so she's in. But when you go to the page where you enter your name to see if you got in, it tells her "sorry, you were not selected this year."

If she got the e-mail, then she's in. The same thing happened to some of the people in my group, so I called the race staff. The lady said she's getting hundreds of calls on this issue. If the data typed into the website don't exactly match the registration information, then the name won't show there. She confirmed, though, that the e-mail means they're in.

          Not in. Not too sad.

Ragnars, Beasts & Tough Mudders will keep me busy...

Due to injuries in my group, I've got two extra two-bedroom suites here for the Friday and Saturday nights of the race. They're $269 per night (plus tax). If anyone is interested in one or both, drop me a PM by tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

$269/night for a Marriott Townplace? Ouch.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Marathon premium. There's a two-night minimum as well.

There's a reason why I'm staying in Mesquite. Everything in and around St. George is booked.

                    Forecast: High 72, low 47.

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

For where, and where are you seeing this?!? That's great news but I can only find forecasts out to the Thursday prior.

It was easy! I just tapped on the weather widget on my Galaxy S3! Are you still using one of those iPhones?

(accuweather.com--and that's for St George. It'll be cold at the start--bring a trash bag.)

I'm a dual user - iPhone and Droid Razr (thank you, job!)

If its 47/72 in StG, that will put it 40 or lower in Central, no? This is magnificent news. Forget the damn trash bag - I'm bringing an old ski jacket! I have two and I need precisely zero where I live.

Central is closer to Cedar City weather, and our low is 26 (that's a bigger St G-Cedar difference than normal). I'm guessing 30s at the start. Yesterday, I was talking to a friend of mine who runs this every year (he's Kenyan, and he's really fast, yet I never see him running in town--genes, grr) and he said after the Veyo hill, it's like dropping down into an oven.

Can't be worse than Houston was all summer.

If it's below freezing we'll have to watch the first few aid stations for ice. But I'll take that.

Oh definitely--"oven" is relative. I think last year is still fresh on his mind, but the point is that you descend so quickly that you can feel it getting warmer.
