I'm in, though I would have to decimate myself to even have a chance at contending for the Target card. Still, I the other day I realized I am almost 20lbs heavier than I was when I married 10 years ago. I would really like to get back to that weight just to see how much of my lateral agility returns. I just don't know if finding out is worth an 1800/cal/day diet over the next 3 months.

I'm in like BYU in the Big 12!"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I wish you'd started this Aug 1 (I've lost 21 lbs this month). Hopefully the 3 or so lbs I have left will win me top prize.

Have you quit eating altogether? 21 is just under a pound per day??? What in the world are you up too Blue? That can't be healthy can it??? Did you have an accident and lose a leg?Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostI wish you'd started this Aug 1 (I've lost 21 lbs this month). (if it IS healthy...I want to do it!)
I want to lose 10-15 lbs or so. But, I am taking it much much slower than you are."Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."
Hmm... Good motivation for me to remain active I guess.

I think that kind of loss gives you a perspective on the weight I truly need to lose.Originally posted by Borg View PostHave you quit eating altogether? 21 is just under a pound per day??? I moved to between 900-1000 calories a day on Aug 1 (I can only estimate what I was eating before but it was enough to feed a family of 4).
I eat an Atkins protein shake for breakfast, another for lunch (these have 15g of protein each and just under 200 calories) and a sensible dinner, usually a weight watchers frozen meal. My snacks are vegetables. Add in exercise (biking mostly-and no I'm not yet ready to join in the CUF fun
) and no eating after 7 and so far so good.
I chose to stop drinking my favorite thing in the world, too; Diet Coke. This has been the most difficult part along with bread but so far my energy is way up, my type II diabetes is in check, and I don't show signs of slowing. You are awesome dude, way to go! I've dropped some weight too, and am loving it. A few more lbs and I'm back to the weight I was when I went to BYU as a freshman. I've got to get there, that is the goal.
I admire your determination and commitment. The hardest thing for me too, was slowing down the soda. I've not eliminated it yet, but want too. That is a toughie.
Great job. You should be on the CUF cycling tour next year.
