Question about gout

    Allopurinol should be your friend. Once I started it I've never had an acute attack since. I got a little gouty once after a hellacious stomach flu, but that was it. I just had blood work last week, totally normal range on my uric acid. Seriously, allopurinol is a life-changer. I used to walk with a cane. Nothing hurts as bad as gout. Nothing I've ever experienced, at least, and I've had my fair share of pain.

      After reading through this thread a month or so ago, I considered switching over to allopurinol. But the research I found indicated that it's not really any better at managing gout than my current protocols (when I actually fill and use the prescriptions).

        If all it takes is gout to bring you back to the board, I'm going to start sneaking in references to gout in the political threads.
