Yep. There are 12 in our group. I can take 5 with me. I have become really popular! I will get a good seat for Fantasmic too.

Okay docs, what is the right specialist to go to for a 2nd opinion or to figure this out for good?

I have been on allopurinol for over 4 months now, 300mg daily at first, raised to 600mg about a month ago.

This last flare is "gone" in that I can put shoes on, walk without a limp most of the time, etc. but there is still pain. No way I can stand on my tiptoes, walk for exercise, etc.

I empathize with you. Lingering medical issue sucks.

Do you really take Lortab? My Dr. prescibes hydracodone. It is supposed to be the same, but I remember Lortab being a lot better at killing the pain.

Rheumatologist would be the specialist but I would think a board certified internal medicine or family practice physician would be able to provide appropriate treatment.

Me too on the PCP but it doesn't seem to be working out that way ...

Has anyone taken an xray of your foot/toe? Over time gout can result in damage to the cartilage of the joint that can result in pain, even if gout is being treated appropriately.

No. Diagnosis was just visual and a blood test for UA level.

My really aged family doctor was the only MD who ever got my gout under control. Don't even bother with a podiatrist. Seriously.

Sorry to hear that. Isn't that the affliction of the rich?

So I've been told. Still waiting to see welder money flowing in, though.

Oh no. Now it sounds like you have cultural appropriation as well.

So is it the red meat or the alcohol that’s the culprit?
