Was actually looking forward to rugging all day. (a jog intended to look like a run)

Weather wasn't great, but I wasn't going to be kept down.

5 minute warmup, 8 one minute runs broken up by 90 second walks. 5 minute cool down.

I didn't walk furring any of the running intervals.

I ran with my phone in my hand this time, and it helped. There was a time or two my lungs said to stop...and I looked down and saw "9 seconds left in interval" and I thought...I have 9 seconds in me.

Felt great. I feel like I won today.

My quads and groin muscles are sore.

    Can't wait for Saturday.

You did win today. No feeling about it.

Also, to quote (paraphrase?) somebody whose name I've forgotten, the difference between a jogger and a runner is an entry blank.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I frequently get excited for all day rugging sessions too.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

All joking aside, congratulations. I'm no hardcore runner like some of the other guys, but I've found that running is much more mental than physical. I find my brain battling my muscles all the time and so far, I've managed to keep going even when my muscles screamed to stop. I lose that battle sometimes. Like you though, it feels great when I'm close to finishing an interval and think "I can do one more minute of this", and then do it. Definitely a win for you.

Running (in general) is definitely mostly mental. Mind over body.

It is sometimes at first. But honestly, I'd be careful with this. Listen to your body--fatigue ok, pain not.

What race? Are you doing the Vegas one the beginning of December? I'm tempted, but it's so dang expensive.

Also, you need to Cedar next year (or this year). Super fast and a really nice canyon to run down.

And one more consecutive reply to pull the exute trifecta:

Congrats to the new runners. That's an awesome change to make. I love the couch to 5k program.

I'm in for stripping at night! I ran the Vegas half last year and thought it was a blast. Wayyy crowded with poorly designed logistics post-race, funneling everybody through the Mandalay Bay with people passing out left and right, but the race itself on the strip was great. I've already paid the ridiculous entry fee.

For that reason, I'm taking 3-4 weeks off from running. Post-runs, I was having lots of ache/pain in my left hip and foot. I think it's a combination of hip bursitis and arthritis. I'll start again in earnest after we ride a century at the end of the month. It's tricky stuff trying to figure out how hard to push and when to back off.

Did my half marathon today. Bonked at 10.5. Finished in 2:17. I guess I'll have to train a bit harder so I can do better in the last portion, was hoping to finish under 2h, but I was a mess the last bit.

Week #1 of Couch to 5k is complete.

Didn't walk during an running interval again. Although I really wanted to. I actually jogged at a decent pace on one of them and almost died.

Pretty proud of myself I tell you. I didn't want to go because I wanted to watch football, but I went anyways
