I just started running again. I say again because ever since high school ended (I was a track star
) I have started and stopped running at least 3 times. I'm committed to sticking with it this time.
However I've noticed that my current running workout and previous diet are not friendly. The result has been that I'm starving most of the day but I'm not sure what to do about it as I don't want to eat snacks all day. Anyway, here's my current routine:
Breakfast: Granola bar
Lunch: Soup, fruit cup, wheat thins or some other cracker (mabye a visit McDonalds or Chick-fil-a twice a week)
Snack: I'll usually eat some more crackers or pretzels or maybe a Snickers
Dinner: Whatever Mrs. Jones is making at home (usually something good and nutritious with meat/veggies/fruit etc., pretty much a normal dinner meal
Snack: Usually have a bowl of ice cream after running
I run at night so I wake up hungry and it just never wears off. I hate breakfast (especially cereal and oatmeal) but would be open to a protein shake or other "easy to eat at work" snack to tide me over until lunch. I've just never looked into shakes or other protein/carb packed snacks/shakes.
Thoughts?
