How much do you spend on running shoes?

Since we have some hard core runners and some not so hard core runners here, how much do you usually spend on your shoes?

I normally find somewhere they are on sale and go spend between $40-$60

I may be small, but I'm slow.

When I first started getting serious about running/walking, I invested in a pair of shoes that were $100+, when they were wore out in 10 weeks, I realized I couldn't afford it, thus looking for sales. I probably helps my knees and ankles that the majority of my miles are walking and not jogging.

Typically $90 or more. I have big feet and a unique gait.

I'm the same. The shoe I always buy retails at $80 or $90, but I've never paid more than $50 because I always find them on sale.
          Not that, sickos.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

$100+ but not because I feel it's necessary to get a good shoe. I have gone to specialty running stores in the past to get their advice (I'm always battling some type of foot or leg pain). Once I get their help, I don't feel right walking away and buying the same shoe elsewhere.

If I could figure out how to evaluate my own gait and identify the right shoe, I would be happy to pay $50 instead of $100.

I get a pretty good deal on shoes through work, so I usually spend about $40-50 for a pair. Even if I didn't get the deal that I do, i would still pay the extra amount for the same brand and style because they fit my foot very well. I've tried more expensive shoes and they aren't nearly as good as what i am in (Brooks Adrenaline).

Lately Sports Authority have had shoes on clearance for as much as 60% off. I've gotten my last 3 pair there. I got a pair today that listed for $125 and were $55

if i take advantage of bluegoose's kindness, i get them for 50-60, but they are over $100 shoes, so i averaged and voted for 80-100. got to get good shoes... buying them off of the sales rack is a bad idea - you could end up with feet, knee, hip, back problems, all of which i have had at different times with crappy shoes (and even occassionally with good shoes).
