I understand the Park City Ski Patrol strike has ended. Hallelujah! I was there yesterday on the Canyons side. There has been real limited terrain open this year and the lift lines during the holiday break were out of control. We were planning on skiing there last week and opted out. Looking forward to getting back there sometime as they get more terrain open. A day spent on the Canyons side between Iron Mountain and the Tombstone lift can downright be a piece of heaven!

Skied Alta this morning. There was 14" new snow but it was on top of an icy/hardpack base on the groomed runs and a few rocks on the non-groomed runs. Still, it was decent skiing for the day before Thanksgiving. Only two lifts were open so it was a bit crowded waiting for the lift line, but it wasn't too bad. I got 5 runs in by noon after which my quads were completely shot so I called it day.

Most places are partially open now. Snowbird opens tomorrow. Deer Valley opens on Sunday.

I skied Park City on Friday. The sun was out and the high was over 60F. I put on plenty of sunscreen. Some ladies were skiing in bikini tops (I hope they put on plenty of sunscreen)

It was definitely spring skiing, with lots of slush at the bottom of the mountain while at the top it was mostly groomed stiff snow. The gondola over to Canyons was open but a lot more lifts and runs were closed on the Canyon's side. Still, it was fun.

Finished up my pass with a day at Sun Valley Saturday. Nowhere else I've ever skied has 3000 vertical feet of skiing with no plateaus, you're turning them the whole time down the mountain.

Watch some old vids of Shaun Tomson surfing Jeffries Bay. It's right up there.

Targhee gets all the snow when it dumps and Jackson gets the leftovers. Sometimes they will get a good storm, but it's not as often as people might assume.
