Just need to do the grout now. I'm really happy with the results. I did find out that we overbought the tile by an entire box. We got 4 boxes of tile and only still had some left after only 3 boxes.

Not only did they look bad, it was poorly installed. You can see from the picture how they left an exposed edge on the tile. I also really don't understand when they installed the tile why they didn't remove the black backing on the counters. I think with this change, I'll be happier with the counter tops. I'd love to replace them and the sink, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I think the next major project that we would be looking at on the interior would be replacing the front door. We are going to have to pain the exterior eventually, but we will probably wait until the HOA complains about that before doing it.

I have one picture of the work in progress just to confirm the grout spacing with only about 3 tiles installed, and I'm excited to see what it looks like when I get home from work.

Under cabinet lighting can be great. We have that at our current house (though I don't really use them that much).

We did end up going with the white trim. We are also using a white grout. The installer starts tomorrow. I'm excited to see the final product.

We have now bought the tile. I'm deciding on the schlutter and I think that I might be leaning towards black at this point. While far from a prefect representation, I've been able to mock up a few on ChatGPT.

Yes, that's an option. I found a really nice-looking matte-black tile schulter that matches the shower and sink fixtures. It would look very sharp as the cap for the planking if I cut it off somewhere partially up the wall.

I talked to Mrs. D, and she said her inspiration for the planking all the way up to the ceiling was a spa where she got a massage while we were on an anniversary trip recently. She didn't get a picture because her phone was back in another room with her stuff, but the planking abutted some tile and made for a very aesthetic "spa look" which is, I guess, what we are going for with this remodel.
