With all do respect, RedSox and I live in hurricane country. A plug in chainsaw isn't going to do much good when the power is likely to be out for 7-14 days. This is simply a need-based decision, which is the reason I don't own a 4-wheel drive vehicle since I'd never use it."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Sure that makes sense. But the engineer in me just has to ask the question: Don't you own a generator?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Yes, let's please run extension cords to our unobtainium power source while I cut trees off Sister Delacroix's house. 300 ft. should do it.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post(Harumph. I my next four insults all lined up and you went and got all nice on me.)

You are aware that they make small portable generators I presume. That run on gas?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

In a long term power outage the generator is needed to run the TV and xbox 360, not electric chain saws.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Just to expand, I actually don't own an actual generator. We keep meaning to buy one and just haven't. We've been lucky these past couple years but chances are I'll just buy one this year.Originally posted by Moliere View PostYeah, I have a generator. It's part of my chainsaw
However, the last thing you want to do is carry around a generator when you are cutting down trees. I don't anticipate using my chainsaw much at my house where my generator will be stored. My chainsaw will likely get 99% of its use when we are sent out to do service in the areas that get hit the hardest such as Galveston, Sabine, and Beaumont."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I have yet to see an electric that will handle that sort of work. Green oak that's 18 inches thick? A lot of cut-rate gas powereds won't handle what we had to tackle after Ike.Originally posted by Moliere View PostJust to expand, I actually don't own an actual generator. My chainsaw has had most of its use in Oklahoma, New Orleans, Galveston, etc. than on any of the trees within 50 miles of my house. There is nothing better than a road trip with a chainsaw.Originally posted by Moliere View PostJust to expand, I actually don't own an actual generator. We keep meaning to buy one and just haven't. I go electric if practical and if it's possible. I had enough battles with a gas weedeater as a teenager, that I went electric when I bought my house and needed one. I also had an electric chain saw growing up. Getting those little gas engines started and maintained is a huge pain in the ass in my experience.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYes.
Cheap. Low maintenance. And it works beautifully.Last edited by Color Me Badd Fan; 05-07-2011, 04:59 PM.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I have no idea where to start. Let's just say that a real chainsaw wouldn't have elicited the phrase "manly men" since it would have already been understood.
You are killing it here.
