  • October 2020 General Conference - Global Pandemic, Pt 2

Here is a dedicated spot for you all to nitpick and complain and otherwise feel invalidated about the talks in general conference again.

Will there be a separate thread for those that find it uplifting and inspiring? Asking for a friend.

I will not be participating in this thread, or in Sullyute's suggested thread. It thought it important to let all of you know that.

I may check in to view your celebration about the prohibition against drinking coffee being lifted.

Sorry. No song list. You'll be just as surprised as I am.

Well thanks a lot. There goes the one reason I was going to follow this thread
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

You can post it here! Just be prepared to have a thick skin. Last April discussion was depressing.

Yesterday I saw a tweet that said, "Instead of watching the debate, I am just reading the reactions on twitter - same thing I do for general conference." Stuff like that makes me worry for our future. Ugh...

I will watch from my lair of despair. I will lament privately as my children mock us for our pixie dust dreams of celestial glory and a forever family. I will cringe when a church leader tells us in the eyes of God - All his Children Matter. I will weep openly when they announce a temple in La Grande Oregon. I will complain bitterly as they tell us we must come back to church in spite of covid because tithing receipts are down 75% and we must get the number up.

We just did that 2 weeks ago. Backbreaking and brutal. That stuff is hard and you have to chip it off.

On the good news front, I was able to deploy all of my coronavirus masks and air filtration PPE. So they werent a waste of money.

The good or bad news is that it has asbestos in it so I am just going to cover it up. Still a bunch of work, but I finally get to use my covid leave so it works out.

I think they will announce that The Last Days have officially begun. If I find out that the second coming is really a thing, I'm going to feel pretty dumb and probably start gnashing my teeth.

                          No weeping/wailing though?

Turns out Oaks was clearly commanding everyone to vote for Trump while also condemning anyone who would even consider voting for Trump.
