Worthy people don't need to partake - last week's Sacrament partaking is still good for them... and if they stay worthy the coming week - they are good to go again. If worthy people take each week - it becomes rote - and just a thoughtless gesture without meditation.

I see it as who is worthy of the Atonement when approaching the Sacrament table. I dont think you can do so casually, thus the need to prepare. I would also think that no one approaches the Sacrament in any given week without the need of the Atonement based upon what has transpired in their lives since the last time. But maybe I'm just projecting.

And there's a new, or at least expanded, question on whether one keeps the Sabbath Day holy. My sis-in-law's stake in Arizona has decreed that watching TV on Sunday is a Sabbath violation, so temple attendance in Mesa may drop precipitously.
It's a good thing that the stake's interpretation doesn't apply to anything, then.

Next April will be the bi-millennial + 1 score celebration of the Atonement Savior's birth, so I’m sure it will still get a mention or two.

Elder Peter M. Johnson has a pretty interesting background. Grew up in Queens. Was a rapper that did weddings and other small community gigs, became a Muslim at age 12. At age 14, he moved to Hawaii to live with his mother. Played basketball for BYU-H. He transferred to play for Dixie State where he joined the church.
