It can't all be spiritual and uplifting in here.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Falafel, I recommend that you pick up a copy of Planted by Patrick Mason. It is a great treatise on faith and doubt in an LDS context and one of the main features of the book is dealing with LDS history. Mason is a history prof (formerly at ND, now at Claremont) so he is particularly good at exploring those issues. Also an excellent writer.

I should pick that up too. The title is exactly right. Single word with all kinds of implications in this context.

My advice is to find out what he wants to show you before you freak out
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I might even have a copy of that book. Before we were deemed beyond saving, we would periodically get various LDS books in the mail from my in-laws.

If you don't want it, I'll take it.

I didn't say we wanted or didn't want it. We just would periodically get books in the mail. I think it would have been unkind to reject the mail.

I just had the thought that this could very well be an MMM kind of thing too. [emoji849]

Btw, he pushed back the meeting until tonight.
