Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

Freakin' Amish. Always trying to keep up with the Zooks.

    This slayed me:

"People wanted bigger weddings, newer carriages . . . Some Amish families had bought second homes on the west coast of Florida and expensive Dutch Harness Horses, with their distinctive, prancing gait. Others lined their carriages in dark velvet and illuminated them with battery-powered LED lighting.
Something about pimped out carriages paired with a second home in Florida struck me as a strange juxtaposition.

We have lots of Amish in this neck of the woods, but I think they've stayed very conservative. They're extremely nice, especially to Mormons, but I do wish they would bathe more regularly.
"More crazy people to Provo go than to any other town in the state."

The velvet in the carriage got a very hearty LOL out of me as well.

      Great article!

Wow. That was funny. Reminded me of my buddy's van in HS after he installed plush carpet, a wrap around bench and running lights. The whole thing screams of an SNL spoof of Pimp My Ride.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
