  • Home teaching is a bad thing.

Can't tell me that at least some of you don't agree with me on this point.

Home teaching is a relic. It needs to go.

You and HT have something in common.

Scratching my head wondering why a guy who has left the church is campaigning to eliminate home teaching.

I have never been a strong advocate of HTing. In fact many times I've argued that it should be an opt-in program in the church. That said as my family has dealt with ldc's cancer this year our home teacher has been truly a blessing to us. He doesn't ask creepy questions about our companionship prayers or how often we read scriptures, he doesn't even make a formal visit every month, although he does try, and when he does it is 10 minutes of catching up and having a sincere interest in my kid's and family's well being followed by 2-3 minute spiritual thought. He has dropped by with special gifts for each person in our family at various times over the last 8 months, sends texts to both my wife and I just checking in and willingly offering any service we might be in need of. Also, backing off and giving space when that is needed. I've applied the scientific method of if this is a net positive or negative to my family and the results are clear.

                    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
