Watching the World Report segment about cleanup in Louisiana. Seeing a lot of Mormon Helping Hands yellow shirts. Haven't spotted any LSU shirts yet.

My daughter sang in the MTC choir on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Meanie and I finagled tickets to the session and were able to see her sing. Despite our shameless waving, she never picked us out of the other 21K people in the crowd.
There were just one or two people in the back that yelled "oppose" when the sustaining of church leaders was done.

Don.t come to Sacrament Meeting on Mormon Standard time. Our sp wanted us to close the curtain to the overflow, fit but it is Crowded in chapel and a few people do ,t come in. Open it there are four or five empty seats in chapel.
Don,t bullshit with family member or person next to you either. Hal said be lucky you are not home bound, in hospital, working there or soldier in army during church. I am sure most people are watching football between sessions during his gratitude on sabbath talk.
I used to record conference particularly when work kept me from attending but with Mormon Channel on Rome no longer necessary. Gathering calves away from there madre yesterday took a player on Coach Vines staff and he drank Pepsi when we had some cattle rounded up. Hc and staff member that dated Elder Detmea daughter has gotten on players for drinking soda dehydrate and cut circulation, I didn,t say anything. But after Quentons talk will be vindicated I guess.
I was ,t close enough to radio and central Blaine county no cell phone service so asked about opposings. Hal kept a going and said see your stake president after the sustaining. One guy this time. I was thinking what are they doing to the church. They are damaging themselves though..
Jeff,s talk on ht yesterday and Russell M,s on sabbath would it seem that people would say do things like you want. My next door neighbor I home teach and husband does not want lesson so I have counted it helping them with things visiting them. My Aunt she does genealogy but when comes to church makes it a point to wear pants. Ht partner have a hard time getting him to go. Do occasionally text. Some of my families I see there kids at school activities so can count that there ask about well being.
Lynn G. Don,t lose your temper ever when you discipline. His first talk was we can,t lose our temper. Jane Birch in meridian and my cousin I wonder what they will think of Quentons talk. John Dehlin will have something to say too. Pretty interesting talks.

Seriously though, is there now a clear change to HT? Or will only conventional home visits still be required for official stats?Originally posted by myboynoah View PostYes, so stop those last day of the month visits just to get your stats."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

I don't think there was an official change just a talk from Elder Holland to focus on people instead of numbers/percentages etc. It was a great talk and something believing folks and leaders should consider in their service as any organized community will inevitably experience bureaucratic creep.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostSeriously though, is there now a clear change to HT? I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I don't know. Maybe there is a change coming. Or we're just being encouraged to capture the spirit of what a HTer should be.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostSeriously though, is there now a clear change to HT? For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

There's no objective measure spelled out in the handbook. I can tell you we count all sorts of things when checking the box. Really, a lot of it comes down to what the family is open to receive from their home teachers.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostSeriously though, is there now a clear change to HT? Perhaps I misheard (i was washing dishes in the kitchen) but even so, that actually smacks of more hubris than what I originally thought she said.Originally posted by falafel View PostI thought she was saying that BKP couldn't remember the sins he had repented of. There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

As for what “counts” as home teaching, every good thing you do “counts,” so report it all! Indeed, the report that matters most is how you have blessed and cared for those within your stewardship, which has virtually nothing to do with a specific calendar or a particular location."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Elder Ashton, of the Sunday School presidency, is sounding as boring and generic as a Sunday School lesson manual.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
