I just showed this graphic to my widowed 64 year old mother. It's been almost 7 years and she's just starting to consider even the possibility. She didn't seem to find it very encouraging.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostI am guessing this is why polygamy is an eternal principle...

At least she knows things get worse after 66, so at least she has that going for her.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostI just showed this graphic to my widowed 64 year old mother. Interesting article on the potential demographics of the celestial world. Based on our doctrine that infants who die before the age of 8 are automatically saved in the highest degree of the celestial kingdom, demographics speculate that there is currently an excess of 1.7 billion males waiting in heaven.
So it appears that Joseph may have been right on the money with his polyandry and wrong with polygyny!?Furthermore, it also follows that 16.8 billion males and 15.1 billion females
have been exalted by early death, producing a surplus of about 1.7 billion
males."Friendship is the grand fundamental principle of Mormonism" - Joseph Smith Jr.

Is it the highest degree of the celestial kingdom or just in the celestial kingdom (including those areas where marriages is not required)?

Will they have eternal life?
Eternal life is life in the highest heaven of the celestial world; it is exaltation; it is the name of the kind of life God lives. It consists of a continuation of the family unit in eternity. We have quoted scriptures saying that children will be saved in the celestial kingdom, but now face the further query as to whether this includes the greatest of all the gifts of God—the gift of eternal life. And in the providences of Him who is infinitely wise, the answer is in the affirmative. Salvation means eternal life; the two terms are synonymous; they mean exactly the same thing. Joseph Smith said, “Salvation consists in the glory, authority, majesty, power and dominion which Jehovah possesses and in nothing else.” (Lectures on Faith, pp. 63–67.) We have come to speak of this salvation as exaltation—which it is—but all of the scriptures in all of the standard works call it salvation. I know of only three passages in all our scriptures which use salvation to mean something other and less than exaltation."Friendship is the grand fundamental principle of Mormonism" - Joseph Smith Jr.
