uh.. generally big boobs aren't considered white trash, unlike multiple rings, piercings, and tats. Is this a serious question?

My daughters wear 2 piece swimsuits on the boat and other non-church functions, and post pics wakeboarding, wakesurfing, kickin' back etc...on facebook.
We've had two calls from the YW about it.
Personally, I file this under MYODB.....along with tasteful earings & small tats if one so chooses. Cosmetic surgery, including but not limited to boob jobs, most definately falls under this category. None of these things will even remotely lead to future behavior that will keep an otherwise worthy person out of the temple.

The worst billboard I've ever seen was for Sierra West jewelers, right at Point of the Mountain....it read, "Love Her? Show Her!" with a woman hugging a man looking over his shoulder at a preposterously large diamond ring.Originally posted by Tick's wife View PostMy favorite, is when we go to Utah and see all the billboards with the breast implants and tummy tucks (muffin top) advertisement with a Temple in the background.....kind of ironic with all the 'inner beauty' talks we get ...lol"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. Everything he said was a commandment. It's lame to try to make excuses for what is a commandment and what is not.Originally posted by scottie View PostSerious question -- what's the test for determining if something that GBH said while president of the Church was a suggestion vs. a commandment? and what's the source for your answer?
If you believe the prophet speaks God's will, then everything he says you should treat as commandment.

So how would you explain the Prophet speaking and the spirit telling me the counsel isn't for me. Later on I find out the counsel is no longer given. Surely God doesn't change his mind. If something is proclaimed evil in conference, 20 years later it wouldn't be not evil would it.Originally posted by jay santos View PostEverything he said was a commandment. It always gives me tingles and warm fuzzies when I see an old thread of mine brought back to life several months later. Maybe that's why some people choose to become writers. Imagine 200 years from now: CUF is still thriving, and certain CUF threads are mandatory reading in high school English classes. That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. Then you don't believe in following the prophet. I don't think anything less of you for it, though.Originally posted by byu71 View PostSo how would you explain the Prophet speaking and the spirit telling me the counsel isn't for me. To explain where I'm coming from, I'm not a hard a$$ demanding everyone obey everything that's taught in general conference. I just think it's lame for people to pick and choose and pretend they're not under any obligation to obey the prophet. I say go ahead and pick and choose but admit by doing so you're weak and sinful and need Christ. We get into problems when we have this super scary heavy view of what sin is. Just admit you sin every day and then figure out what to do about it.
