It's beyond my comprehension that any educated grown-up could join the LDS Church. Unfathomable to me. So, I have no comment about this. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I don't know if it's a testament to my narcissism or my insecurity that at first glance I thought that this thread title was "To All You Harry Tic Haters."

I think Judge Palmer in The Judge said it best...Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostIt's beyond my comprehension that any educated grown-up could join the LDS Church. Unfathomable to me. So, I have no comment about this.
Of course, he was most likely talking about a different God other than the LDS or the Harry Reid one.Hank Palmer: You think there's something else after we die?
Judge Joseph Palmer: You asking me if I believe in God?
Hank Palmer: Do you?
Judge Joseph Palmer: I'm 72 with stage 4 cancer. What choice do I have?"If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.
"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.

This thread would have caused a lot more reflection on cougarboard. Clearly Harry Reid's involvement in a senator's conversion is not regarded by anyone here except maybe PAC as much mitigation. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Deep down, he's pissed. He can't fathom that educated, intelligent human beings don't agree with him on the religion issue, and deep down it is unsettling for him. It pisses him off. By the way, SU's position is the apex of conceit and lack of imagination (not a good combo for an aspiring novelist). It's also the totalitarian mindset-- the inability to have any empathy with those with different experiences and viewpoints. If he had the power to punish believers, he would. Through the coercion of the state, in the form of scorn, taxation, and the like. His is the mindset of totalitarianism. He should be more circumspect, as an aspiring Tolstoy and all.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostYou think he is pissed? I picked up a bafflement vibe, but not at all pissed.

For someone who has already written and published a novel, is "aspiring novelist" an apt description?Originally posted by Levin View PostDeep down, he's pissed. Do you know what pisses me off about this whole thing? After learning that a man named Clay Christensen exists, I then learned that he has a son who played for Duke on a basketball schollie (and it appears he was even a mission kid).Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
