Despite the motivation what is wrong with getting earthquake insurance? Sounds prudent in an earthquake zone. We had it when we lived in Memphis.
I think we are good without it in Texas... The folks along the Wasatch front and the left coast are screwed:

Haha. I like how that map has "2015" on it. As if faults move around the country from year to year.

Mostly that she 1. assumes we don't have it and 2. that we can just cancel it later if an earthquake doesn't happen.
Or 3. That the insurance company will actually honor your coverage without coming up with some bullshit excuse why your house wasn't flattened by n earthquake.
M. Russell gave a talk in 1999 Oct on false prophets and said don,t accept anything official unless it comes from the Church leaders. Since the Lords house is a house of order and not confusion and revelation can only come through properly appointed channels. We have no right to receive revelation to direct other peoples lives.
What is the scripture that says no mn sHll take it upon himself to teach people unless it is made know to the church he HS authority. CES teachers teach from scriptures and ensign articles are approved by first presidency. People out of the church have me
De,s too. Nde,s are obscure visions people have and use to get followings. I seen people with "better ideas" get cult like followings. People went to them rather than church leaders and they cost marriages and harmed people. People who ride gospel hobbies ride them out of the church.
One self proclaimed prophet only came to church to teach his High priest class. Asked to give closing prayer as he walked into gospel doctrine before his class. Help us live law of consecration as that was lesson. People like that easily lead people astray. Tat is why you followi living prophteta not people who almost died.
How is it that this lady isn't being dragged into a disciplinary council? If half of the stuff that people attribute to her is true, she should have been excommunicated long before KK.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

It's really quite simple. She is a part of the most conservative side of LDS Mormonism, which is the viewpoint that always wins out, regardless of what the hierarchy says, which is usually nothing, unless of course someone starts advocating for a return to polygamy or that the current hierarchy is fallen/corrupt. In Mormonism, the safest way to be a radical is to be radically conservative, you are basically unimpeachable. Conservatism always wins any argument in Mormonism.

I'll be honest, this is the thing that bugs me the most about her.
I'm going to side with the LDS leaders on this one. They ex'd Kelly because they could see how annoying she was becoming.

How active is the earthquake zone? How common is it for residents to have earthquake insurance? IIRC the Wasatch Front isn't a very active fault, and it just isn't very common for residents to get earthquack (oops, did I say that?) insurance.
Sure, it's not a bad idea, but what is motivating her advice? As one whose siblings send crap like this all the time, it gets annoying really fast.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.
