I heard somewhere that coffee is bitter because it's over-roasted, which coffeehouses do to make all of their coffee beans, usually harvested from different places, taste more uniform. Coffee snobs say that if coffee is grown well and roasted properly, it's much more sweet than bitter.

I'm not sure I buy it.

It is amusing what some coffee and or alcohol drinkers will say to convince non drinkers that they aren't actually bitter. Of course they are bitter, it's what makes them good. Once your palate has grown accustomed to those flavors, you begin to wonder why people care if things are sweet or not.

I love Coke Zero and I try very hard not to drink it because I know it is so bad for me. I sometimes buy Zevia with the hope that it is not as bad for me, but I am not so certain. It is made with stevia instead of aspartame or sucralose.
