I bet He would say "I should have seen that coming."Originally posted by creekster View PostCould anything ever make him say "Didn't see THAT coming!" or is such a thing impossible?"Sure, I fought. If you accept God is omniscient, then it's not possible- but I'm guessing that's not the questionOriginally posted by creekster View PostCould anything ever make him say "Didn't see THAT coming!" or is such a thing impossible?
.
I have known people who believe in "God as clockmaker" and I can see a God thought of that way could be surprised. This whole life and creation could be an awesome science experiment if that is the framework.Last edited by Vic Vega; 04-14-2014, 05:33 AM.

In my religion God can be surprised, in fact, I like to think that he often is surprised both for good and bad. I like to think that God doesn't know the future, but he knows all the past, which makes him kind of omniscient.
I'd also wager that God wasn't surprised that SU left the church."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

An omniscient God would never weep, therefore the Mormon God is not omnisicent. Yes, God can be surprised."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Lol. Early entrant for post of the year.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI think he would be surprised at the negative tone we see sometimes on this board. One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
Woot
I believe religion has much inherent good and has born many good fruits.
