I bet He would say "I should have seen that coming."

If you accept God is omniscient, then it's not possible- but I'm guessing that's not the question.

I have known people who believe in "God as clockmaker" and I can see a God thought of that way could be surprised. This whole life and creation could be an awesome science experiment if that is the framework.

I think he would be surprised at the negative tone we see sometimes on this board.

In my religion God can be surprised, in fact, I like to think that he often is surprised both for good and bad. I like to think that God doesn't know the future, but he knows all the past, which makes him kind of omniscient.

I'd also wager that God wasn't surprised that SU left the church.

It's like when as a parent you make cookies, even though you tell your kid not to eat the cookies, you know they are going to.

Why would you make cookies and then tell your kids not to eat the cookies? Total D move, imo.

I would answer, yes he can. I mean if he repented of something, wouldn't that mean he didn't know what he did was going to be wrong? Otherwise you would have to believe God errors knowing full well he is erroring.

An omniscient God would never weep, therefore the Mormon God is not omnisicent. Yes, God can be surprised.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
