Teal and black. To match your Harley (RIP).
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Nice. He's given up on CFB and is now a Carolina Panthers fan. Makes sense.

BYU will always be my alma mater. And people here will always be my friends, for the most part.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

            I bet.

Gak. Worst insult I've had all day.

P'dip, I'm very confident you will fail in this endeavor (and that's cool). Your interest and acquired knowledge in LDS history has always been extensive (far greater than mine) and I doubt you'll be able to discard it. I suspect SU devoted far less time than have you to the subject, and he's going on, what?, 30 years of ex-Mo-dom and obviously retains a rapt if scornful interest in the Church and BYU. But as with SU you're certainly welcome to stick around. Just don't piss us off.

I think he will always have at least a passing interest. I know I do. How can I not have any interest in the religion of my mother; especially when its a religion for which I used to be an active participant? The transition that happens over time for most of us who leave, is that we no longer get worked up by what the church or its members do or believe. Live and let live.

Exactly! It's more than just being respectful of beliefs I don't care for anymore; it's not having to try to do so. For the time being I try to vent my real criticisms in places where very few will be offended.

As PAC more eloquently stated, it may be next to impossible to do though. It's your culture and your life to this point. I suggest that whenever you get bogged down in the subject just jump on that bike and ride!

I so greatly appreciat that attitude. I actually can relate to those who have chosen to leave as I long ago stopped believing everything said by a GA came from God.

I do have enough of an attachment though that I don't appreciate the GA's being called old stupid senile men. Disagree all one wants, but no need to demean someone to make the point.

Unless of course they are participating on this board.

I can see how you would be sensitive to others being called old stupid senile men.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

But they walked into Mordor and flew out.
