  • An audio version of McNaughton's worldview

and apparently he's coming to a fireside near you!
This is really really long, but crazy entertaining. Watch it in bits and enjoy (or be afraid).
It looks like ultra conservative Mormons are really stepping up their game.
Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia
God forgives many things for an act of mercy

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

No time to watch the whole thing but his mannerisms at the opening remind me of Joel Osteen.

I was one second into it, saw the words "archaeological evidence," and shut it off.

I was turned off by that too, but then I saw "prophetic evidence," and I turned back. When it climaxed with "Mormon Evidence," I felt a chill.

You missed the part where he mocks a mormon lady for hugging a gay person and provides scriptural support for hating gays.

I would hug any person that needs my love and support. Fortunately there aren't many of those people around.

Why is it that a guy like this will receive absolutely no attention from the Church authorities, even though he uses church as a vehicle to evangelize his highly uncorrelated and false doctrines, but then guys like Denver Snuffer get excommunicated for their liberal approaches? Why is it that in any church setting, the most conservative position always receive explicit or implicit support and the liberal, tolerant, more inclusive positions are derided, silenced, or driven out?

Perhaps it's because yours is a false premise to begin with.

My last bishop, after having spoken on multiple occasions to the right wing nutjob Gospel Doctrine instructor about not infusing political discourse into his lessons, ultimately released the guy because he apparently couldn't resist.

FWIW, I would classify that bishop as a right wing nutjob himself.

I don't have any other examples because in my experience most people in the church do a pretty good job of keeping their political opinions out of church settings, but I can't imagine my bishop was unique in his handling of that scenario.

I would agree the Pilgrim over-generalized but the Church has countenanced more conservative peoples more often than liberal ones. However, perhaps it was as Solon has opined that the Church was created during or greatly affected by the Victorian era in opposition to liberal ideals. Nonetheless, there is nothing to show that it is categorically so.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
