A place to post those small blessings you receive.

Today I stayed to help setup for a funeral while MJ went to pick up our daughter from an activity. I had to find a ride home and the guy I asked just happened to be borrowing his grandma's cherry red ford mustang.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

IMO, need to know the year of the cherry red ford mustang before it can be counted as a tender mercy. Back in the day, I had a college roomate who drove a mustang and riding in it was a punishment.

I'm not sure of the exact year but I'm fairly certain it was between 4-6 years old. Typically this guy drives a little white Sentra so I just figure I was being blessed for helping to set up tables/chairs.

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat,
"But Lord they are too big for feet."

"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."

"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know.
So I got tired, I got fed up,
and there I dropped you on your butt."

"Because in life, there comes a time,
when one must fight, and one must climb.
When one must rise and take a stand,
or leave their butt prints in the sand."
“Every player dreams of being a Yankee, and if they don’t it’s because they never got the chance.” Aroldis Chapman

Foot prints reminds me of a older single lady in our ward - way back - who prepared the Sacrament Meeting Program each week. She was told to include a scripture as an inspirational thought on the backside of the program - but she ended up putting in whatever she liked. Foot prints made it about 4 times a year - but the topper was ward conference - with the whole Stake Presidency there - she inserted a poem about a graphic suicide into the program. The Bishop got lectured to after the meeting, even though he was a not a promoter of suicide himself.
