Not much has changed, because now my son does pretty much the same thing with me...

The taste for beer will come, until one day you will finally get it. I have a partner at work that says for him, beer tastes good at the very first drink, and wine takes a few swallows before you hit that 'great taste'. With certain beers, I've found his opinion spot on.
    Kill me now.

Beer is heavy and filling. Ugh. If you have to acquire a taste for something, why bother?

Tequila OTOH, or Spiced Rum. Hmmm. That's tempting. Even Rakia.

Trying out something that they have denied themselves, curiosity and all that.

Some people will gravitate away from it. I am surprised how many people I meet who have given up drinking alcoholic beverages because they didn't like how it affected their health or weight.

Start with the light stuff! Bud Light is fairly tasteless and easy to drink. My friends make fun of me, but I love it (Bud Light); I've never graduated to the sophisticated stuff.

Sounds awful. I don't want to acquire a taste for that slug. Do they still call Coors Colorado Piss Water? Back in my high school days that was its label.

I don't think Bud Light is awful. Like I said -- fairly tasteless and easy to drink. Most importantly for me it gives the beer buzz. I don't necessarily drink beer for the taste anyway, I know plenty of people who do though.

Gross. Might has well drink your own urine. Get with a good Irish stout, son.

LOL, I really, really like that one. One of my good friends and I were discussing the WOW the other day. He mentioned how lucky he was he had no desire to to drink alcohol, coffee, tea or use tobacco.

Since we have several common friends who break the WOW, I asked him if he really thinks it is a big deal though. He said absolutely not and he personally does not consider our friends sinners. He then went on to say though that it is probably to teach members obedience. I said isn't chastity, tithing, not breaking the sabbath, charitable time giving and other things discipline enough. He just said, I guess not.

Sounds like the next CS outing needs to include adult beverages.

And you don't think tequila or spiced rum require an acquired taste? There's a reason why those are in mixed drinks.

Interesting. I only eat and drink things I enjoy. If I don't like the taste of something, I don't eat or drink it. Why do you feel the need drink beer despite the fact you don't like the taste?

Nearly everything is an acquired taste.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
