I like this quote from Gandhi's grandson when he learned his grandfather had temple rites performed:Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostExactly. And to dedicate your life to keeping tabs on the names that are submitted?
"My grandfather always believed in respecting all the religions," Gandhi said. "When anyone asked him in his lifetime which religion he believed in, he said, 'I'm a Hindu, I'm a Christian, I'm a Muslim, I'm a Buddhist, I'm everything, So in that spirit, I think he'd now say he's a Mormon, too."

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I had this conversation with a friend of mine who didn't like that. The offensive misconception is that we count them as Mormons once the work is done- I see how other religious sects might take exception to that. I explained that 1. Since we believe everybody must have these ordinances to be saved 2. Everybody must at least have a chance to accept them or not and 3. We don't believe these people are sleeping, but are awake and able to say yes or no to the teachings and ordinances- we aren't forcefully dunking them but rather presenting them the option. That explanation seemed to calm him down if not confuse him.Originally posted by creekster View PostIt escapes me why anyone outside of the LDS religion cares what names are used. Unreal. I don't disagree with the judge's decision, I just can't believe this got flubbed so ridiculously by the US Attorney's Office.Originally posted by creekster View PostPrepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
