Easy. Create a female human chain all the way around the conference center. Young women and mothers linking hands and singing primay songs about the priesthood. Let the OW protesters force their way through that.

    • Michael R. Otterson, managing director of public affairs for the church, " ... Posturing for news cameras in the shadow of the Salt Lake Temple is not what General Conference is about, and leaders and members were rightly offended by it.
I will remember to be offended when I see pictures of members posturing for news cameras from KSL, Deseret News, Church News, the Ensign, etc.

Hmmmm...Michael Otterson may want to re-think that.

Holy cow, who is making these decisions? Yes, let's piss off the media. That will make this all go away.
I've got a feeling that camera phones uploads to FB will be just as bad as anything a professional reporter could do.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Brother and Sister Jones will be conducting full cavity searches of Conference goers.

                • Doesn't seem that unreasonable for The Church to set some press limits. Mormons come from around the world to attend conference, seeking communion with Deity and fellow believers. The Organization must consider their interests and how that will be effected by this stunt. As noted, there should be plenty of social media coverage, so no need to bring a gaggle of press outlets to further disrupt the proceedings and the atmosphere of Temple Square.
                  Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I am going to state the obvious one more time: If they really wanted this thing to go away, just let the women sit in the extra empty seats. What on earth would that hurt? The seats are empty. It is a meeting you are broadcasting. What a ridiculous thing to drag out.

                      Why not? They're primitive.

If someone tried to enter without a ticket, the security guards would simply call the cops, who are crawling all over the place, and have them arrested for trespass or disorderly conduct or something like that. I don't think that the ticket takers, or those manning the metal detectors, many of whom are females, would try and get physical to stop entry.

Are they empty? I've been under the impression that the house is always full.

I don't believe that would make this thing go away. The goal of the OW movement is not simply to gain access to the session, it's to gain ordination. Do you not think the movement would come up with some other form of public protest once access to the session has been granted?

Having attended the last 10 consecutive PH sessions in the conference center, I can confirm that there are always empty seats in the upper deck of the house. The standby line fills a good portion of those empty seats but it's not usually completely full. Plus, there is overflow in the tabernacle that I doubt fills up although I don't know for sure because I've always been in the CC.
