If a female tried to get into the priesthood session of GC...
Right now the church is sending out pamphlets to former members (I presume those who have formally resigned/been excommunicated) inviting them to "join with us." Seen a couple screen shots.
Please post. I am guessing they got someone like Tom Bodett to let all the ex-mormons there is still an open door...

"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU. "Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek. GIVE 'EM HELL, BRIGHAM!
Agreed. I guess if one really wanted to find offense, they could pick at a few things and find them, but mostly it was pretty vanilla and nice.
Some of these folks have an extraordinary talent for finding offense.

"It's no secret that the great American pastime is no longer baseball. Now it's sanctimony." -- Guy Periwinkle, The Nix.

I found this to be an interesting read. It is not that often I hear a prominent LDS woman in the heiarchy of the church speak so frankly. The example and culture starts at the top.

After some contemplation, I believe we may some day see the women be ordained as priests. It may be decades in the future, but the dearth of men serving may necessitate the revelation.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
I like how the pamphlet says the Church would benefit from the return of those who have left. Goes against that arrogant analogy of the Church as a train and whether you are on the train or not it's gonna move forward just the same.

I haven't seen anybody get offended at it so far, and it's easy to see why. I think it's innocuous at worst, and is a decent gesture.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I don't think there is anything offensive or wrong with the pamphlet. I just don't think the church seems to grasp or understand why people or leaving. This is all fluffy and feel goody, but without addressing the meat of the issues I don't think this is going to sway people that are walking away.

I think you're trying too hard here. Trolling perhaps?
