My brother might be in this, so I anticipate someone trying to guilt me into going. My argument is that I see him every week. I don't need to go to another church meeting to see him.

My SP told us this is simply the annual meeting for new mission presidents, opened up to the general membership, especially leaders. Still, we were told that all people in leadership positions (mainly presidencies of any kind) should be sure to attend. So maybe the MPs are being told new stuff. I'll be in New York City Sunday but am thinking I will find my way to the stake center there and watch. We are feeding the missionaries Sunday in the two hours between church and this meeting. I am somewhat concerned that they will be expecting us to take them there.
Fortunately, they are sisters, so I am not allowed to be with them alone, so if anyone is taking them, it is my wife.Comment

“The Work of Salvation” Missionary Broadcast
Ward and stake council members, their spouses, full-time missionaries, and other interested Church members are invited to participate in a special session of the Seminar for New Mission Presidents entitled “The Work of Salvation,” which will be broadcast from the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah, on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. mountain daylight time. The program will be subsequently rebroadcast to many areas of the world. President Thomas S. Monson, President Boyd K. Packer, and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will share messages about how members and missionaries work together in a unified effort.
Where necessary, local leaders should adjust scheduled worship services so that members are able to participate in the live broadcast of this historic event.
