Mazophilia abounds in our culture (just ask Goat) and it offers a different type of distraction that could become problematic (once again, ask Goat). However, I can't understand why a bishop would dedicate so much time as to calling them in to discuss it, and even if they did, I cannot understand why refusal to use the nursing room would call into question the mother's worthiness. If individual ward members have an issue with it then they should bring it up with the individual. It shouldn't be the bishop's job.
I was asked to stop breastfeeding in public in a ward I was in. I ignored the request and they didn't push it. I believe in most, if not all states, a mother can breastfeed her baby anywhere she is legally allowed to be, so I don't really know what a bishop could do if a woman refused to stop, other than be an asshole or a bully.

I breastfed everywhere, including the chapel and in Sunday School while sitting right next to the elders.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

If I were the Bishop I would have request that the next relief society enrichment/homemaking event be for the women folk to make themselves some hooter hiders and then encourage militant breastfeeding!

WhoTF am I kidding? I could not in good conscience encourage any hooter-hiding!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I thought of you as I wrote that. I feel I should reiterate that while I can understand why a bishop would make the request, I wouldn't were I in his situation.

          • Lots of rumblings in our stake. It seems that the impact of the pants day is growing larger with time.

Rumblings as in "we need to keep these women down!" or rumblings as in "maybe those women have a point!"?

A little of both. Mainly people talking about it and wanting to learn more about the movement and the issues. It is being brought up more frequently in discussions at meetings and is a topic of discussion in the stake leadership.

                    • Is there any chance that we can get these folks on board with a "Father's Room" while we're at it? Mother's room is so 2012.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Father's room... hmm.. Can we guarantee that it is for Fathers only? I am thinking of a minifridge, and some other accessories to go along with it. I would almost want to have another kid just to have access to my vision of the "Father's Room".

A Father's Room?! Heck, I would just like an Elder's quorum room. I am sick on meeting on the stage with no A/C. Baby steps...

Give men the PH and now they want A/C. Want will they want if we give them A/C?

                                A Fathers' Room, of course.
