But maybe I just need to start paying attention to the new fashions!
No, I admit I'm overstating its pervasiveness, but spotting 2-3 pairs of slacks on the Sabbath is typical. So far as I can tell, no one cares.

I'm still unclear on the objectives of the demonstration. But then I'm still trying to figure out the Occupy thing. Both seem like a means of expressing frustration (often legitimate) over the status quo, without having a specific and feasible end game in mind.

Do leggings under dress/skirt qualify as pants? If so I have a houseful of rebel hearts.

Can we keep track of who is dismissing who in this thread? Indy dismissing the pants wearers. Jeff dismissing indy etc..

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

No she doesn't. Not in any ward I've been in. Not per the handbook if memory serves.

Ward Council is a shitshow, mostly because in every one I've been in the women get unintentionally cowed by the patriarchy into shutting up. Part of that is the fault of the women for not standing up. But not all of it - and doubly so when you consider who calls which women.

I would think it would depend on how long the skirt is.

I have nothing against people (men or women) who choose to wear pants/slacks to church. I am questioning the propriety/effectiveness of some grass roots campaign to get women to wear pants (when plenty of women already do just that) and to get men to get in touch with their inner Donny Osmond.

I've been in 4 consecutive units over the last 7 years where the RS president attends PEC. Ward Council can be a shitshow, but that's the fault of the people participating, not the organization itself. In my experience there is a lot of input received from women that is adopted as part of the decision making processes.

If someone wants to wear a pantsuit to church who the hell cares? Most of them are ugly and not at all flattering. Pantsuits I mean. Mostly.

Either that, or I have inside sources that have revealed unto me the demographic makeups of these clandestine meetings

I'm curious as to how integrated into the ward this woman was and the responses she got afterward.

I actually was applauding this lady for talking about wearing pants to church. I was happy with the churches response.

A good way to get some of this "social" stuff out of the church. In my opinion segregating good members from average members depending on the color of the shirt they wear or how much leg they show is assinine and takes away from the real message of Christ. Didn't he hang out with party goers. I am sure they weren't all dressed in white shirts and proper length skirts.

Remember I am one who is adamantly against BYU being put up as how the standard mormon looks or behaves.

If though as some indicate this isn't about getting rid of stupid "tradition" policies, but aimed more at long held doctrine, I am not applauding.

Let's get rids of the juvenile thinking first, like how one dresses and move onto changing doctrine in the future.
