No mention in SS. Priesthood has been bereft of any mention thus far. 15 min to go, but it looks like my ward is going to disappoint. Sorry.

We had one reference to both Romney and Obama in sac meeting. It was even handed so nothing much to report. Uncle Ted would have been upset there was no mention of Johnson. I skipped SS so I have no idea there. The priests talked politics for 5 minutes and one of them asked if I was an Obama supporter."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Imagine what it would be like in the congregations of Reverends Wright, Lowery and Pastor Pfleger should Romney be elected. The reaction in your ward should Obama be reelected would be mild.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostI can only imagine how bad next Sunday is going to be at church if Romney loses. Either way, it'll be a spectacle worth documenting. Not a single mention in open mic mtg. In fact, we had a five- minute dead spell. Haven't seen that in years."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I conducted today and in the announcements reminded everyone to vote Tuesday. Not a word about the election in the testimonies.

In Elder's Quorum today, a member of the quorum presidency began is lesson by discouraging us from engaging in political discussions of any kind with people of differing view points because in his experience, the discussions get too confrontational and have really stressed a couple of his friendships. All of this coming from someone who loves to repost and pass along insulting Tea Party messages on a given day. Apparently civil discourse is no longer an option.Last edited by Dwight Schr-ute; 11-04-2012, 01:35 PM.I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

Heh, because the Tea Party is a bastion of tolerance and well thought out ideas.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostIn Elder's Quorum today, a member of the quorum presidency began is lesson by discouraging us from engaging in political discussions of any kind with people of differing view points because in his experience, the discussions get too confrontational and have really stressed a couple of his friendships. Of course no mention. The meaning of your "remember to vote" message was very clear.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI conducted today and in the announcements reminded everyone to vote Tuesday. Not a word about the election in the testimonies.
Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Not a single mention in all three hours, not even in conversation. These Utah County wards are boring."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."
