I don't blame someone with limited means (emotional, financial, etc) from making a decision based on that knowledge. It is unfortunate, but I understand.

What is the churches stand on giving a 4 month old who doesn't come full term a name and a funeral? In other words are they different than a newborn in the eyes of the church?
My wife and I endured a time where she went through multiple miscarriages. At the time I tried to do a little research on the official doctrine regarding these naturally terminated pregnancies. It could not find an official position other than "we don't know".
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
