It reminds me of a comment heard frequently in my youth (from Loren C. Dunn in the Salt Lake Mission Home and again from my MP), "It would be better for you to come home from your mission honorably in a pine box than in disgrace from sexual misconduct." One of them even added the coda, "Certainly your parents would prefer it." Are these absolutist positions with respect to misconduct (I'm thinking also of Maeser's stupid chalk circle) slowly fading away? If so, I'd like to think it's due more to enlightenment than moral compromise.
    Kirby always seems so sensible.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
