I had 3 mission companions that must be related to the asshole who wrote that.

We've debated this topic before. I think most everyone here agrees that blind obedience can lead to problems. There are more varied opinions, however, regarding "reason it out." I am of the opinion that if we are humble and submissive (which I am generally not) then we may be prompted to follow counsel that defies reason. Under this construct there will also be times that we are prompted to go a different direction than counseled by our leaders. That's what makes the gospel wonderfully personal.

This point, though, highlights another apparent divergence of opinion among the CUF regulars. I do not believe that a prompting from the Lord to act contrary to counsel necessarily means that the counsel wasn't inspired. In fact, I don't believe we are entitled to that type of revelation. I believe that we are entitled to know if a man is a prophet, and the Lord will tell us if counsel from the prophet applies to us. I do not, however, believe that the Lord will tell us whether specific counsel is inspired. Further, I suspect there are times when counsel isn't inspired at all, but the Lord wants us to follow it anyway just to teach us obedience. This does not seem to be a universal opinion here at CUF.

In defense of Rexburg most of the crazies moved in from elsewhere else. The local's, the farmers, are a pretty sane bunch.

It's an old sage listening to the even MORE sage advice emanating from the paragraph to his left (our right), as if to say "shhh listen- this is some good stuff."

Also, I'm thinking this may be parody, since the author slyly constructed a semi-coherent paragraph using all the official Played out Words @ BYU-I: "Honor Code"; Disciple; Commitment; prayerfully; recommit; abide; "Father in Heaven"...

However, the first part makes it seem like some sort of grassroots viral campaign by the faltering JNCO Jeans company.

                              • There's nothing wrong with skinny jeans. I have a pair. My kids have skinny jeans, too. I have been trying to get danimal to wear some too, (he looks really good in them, too ).

Debates like this certainly don't make me miss church.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.
