  • BYU Idaho bans skinny jeans.

DDD, you'll have to leave your male jeggings at home.

Awesome. Our own little Colorado City. Is it blasphemous for me to think there are some in the church (not necessarily leaders) that look at the control and discipline in Colorado City with some envy.

Did they only ban guys from wearing them?

          They are lame.

          Is that that criteria?

For this ban, I hope so.

But alas, it is not. It's just BYUI being BYUI

This is a problem. Some of the jeans worn up there are not technically "skinny jeans" but the function as such.

Must be all that cameltoe is causing the fine young men up there to become raging hormones on legs... That and the "defining" purse straps... I bet its like a veritable peep show up there with skinny jeans and purse straps.

My daughter who is away from home for the first time and is a freshman in the interior design program at BYU-I informed me a few weeks back that she was turned away from the testing center because she was wearing jeggings. Yesterday she called to discuss the BYU-I curfew which she has been breaking on occasion. I told her that she is there and should abide by the rules. They're running a very tight ship up there in Rexburg.

Keep up the good work, BYU-I!!!!!
                  Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Is there any reason why there isn't a uniform dress code for the BYU campuses?
What's the rationale for a stricter code? Are they that much more righteous up north?
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

That's a good question. I have very limited experience with Ricks/BYU-I, but have always heard they have a stricter approach. I sense they take great pride in that. They also refer to school administrators and even professors as "Brother" and "Sister." This is not for me (I'm more bugged by the "Brother" and "Sister" thing in an academic environment), but I'm not too upset about it being for my daughter at this point in her life.

Ugh. Gross. BYU-I is ridiculous. I remember getting turned away from the JFSB testing center for wearing leggings. Whatever. My fashion is more modest than the big girls who squeeze themselves into itty bitty boot cut jeans.

Haha.... don't make a man go home and change just because you can see the outline of his frank n beans!! I think this is more geared toward the ladies who wear their tights/jeggings as regular pants, sans tunic. I get this more than I get the Capris ban, but whatever. That's the price you pay for a place as otherwise chill as Ricks.

Actually, I got turned away from the testing center @ Ricks for having "purple hair," which was news to me since I had dyed it jet black.

Looks like they are only kind of banned

If you don’t understand the Dress and Grooming standards, we invite you to go to the Lord ‘and ask in faith, nothing wavering’ for approval of the clothing you wear. The Spirit will tell you whether what you are wearing is appropriate or not
