what the hell's the matter with some of you people? I rarely, if ever, post personal stories here for public consumption. You can't tell the difference between a one-line joke reply and a really long, detailed personal story?

sheesh, I will be sure to fill you in on the details of how it all works out.

This thread was actually going quite well and a nice source of support until Indy of all people jumps in and ruins it.

      Relax. He didn't ruin it.

When exactly did I piss in your Cheerios? I don't recall interacting with you for at least year or so and I don't recall it being adversarial. In any event, I'm glad I can continue to win friends and influence people.

nikuman, feel free to post your reponse via private message as I will actually read it.

Thanks, but no. I am content to read DDD's story and be happy. He is a friend of mine and I have no reason to doubt its veracity.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

There were a number of students in my high school from India or Pakistan and almost invariably they were fine individuals and excellent students. My mother was a school teacher and her children with Indian or Pakistani parents were always joys to have in the classroom and their parents were always exceptionally gracious people. I hope that things turn out well and please notify the board of the results from the IVF treatment.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I understand how DDD feels. I got grumpy at Robin a while back over his comment regarding an experience that was important to me. Still, when you tease everyone all the time about everything, right or wrong, some people will see this is license to tease you back and not always at the appropriate time. Waters learned this the hard way.

DDD's reaction is understandable, but I don't think Indy was out of line. He apologized when he realized DDD thought he was. Nothing to see here. Move along.

I have noted your observation, now please just move along to another thread.
I thought Indy was joking with you, and I read this as yet another level of the joke. Am I totally wrong? Was Indy really challenging the veracity of the experience? Was DDD really bothered? I was reading it all as a bit of levity.

Heck, I don't even know if nikuman was serious when he called me an "insufferable asshole". I want to say that he knows that I know that he knows that they know that we know that I know that he knows that you know that we all know that everything here is just a joke, but I don't really know if that's the case or not.

Hence, going forward I will take the stance that everything posted here is deadly serious and to question the veracity of said statement is just a little further down the spectrum of mortal sins than getting a belated health code violation on a humble Johnstown lemonade stand.

Nice story 3D, and I was going to ask why you would pass on such a great opportunity to send the missionaries over, but on second thought . . .

I'm curious about some of the reactions. Is it odd for most here to ask for those of other faiths to pray for you or your family, or to be asked to pray for those of other faiths? Is 3D's experience the exception for Mormons?

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

DDD, if there is any way that I can help your neighbors, and by 'any way' I mean sperm donation, just drop me a PM. My product is now sold out, and I have been out of the system for a long while, but your story has moved me to the point that I would be willing to go to bat for these people.

Ahem... I had Gordon for contracts, too, and thought he was wonderful. Probably the only first year class I recall anything from...

Law school aside, thanks for sharing this story, DDD. It reminds me of a Muslim family that lived in my neighborhood. They were wonderful, kind people who had a hard time making friends because people were so suspicious of them after 9/11. My family befriended them and had them over for an American Thanksgiving and Shagufta (the wife) brought a huge pot of delicious saffron rice to dinner. She and my mom had many discussions about Islam and the LDS faiths, and while they never met eye-to-eye on religion, it was also an atmosphere of interest and respect.

I have no idea what I have sired, but odds are I have better representation in the gene pool than anyone else on the board. Who am I to argue about capitalism? From an evolutionary standpoint it has made my life a huge success.
